First going under the name Nineteen, then The Keen and the Kind, singer-songwriter Violet Vopni's musical project has had a number of identities, but she has a new record in the works under her own name.
We talked about her various musical incarnations, a sonic shift toward pop (while retaining folk and jazz influences), and much more!

Here's a great conversation with one of my local favourites, Stonewall roots/folk (among other things) duo [Two Crows for Comfort](http://www.twocrowsforcomfort.com/)! We talked about pandemic writer’s block, about working with a larger band... and about their excellent new record, 'Show Me Light', which comes out on vinyl, CD and digital formats on March 25. The fellas in [Heartsleeve](http://www.facebook.com/heartsleevemb) may be relatively new to the local scene, but they have their banjos n’ mandos n’ more sound well honed. I hung out with them in a terrifying (yet lovely) porch in the middle of nowhere for a conversation about their folk-with-a-twist sound, covering the Mars Volta with a banjo, playing as a full band vs. basic acoustic duos or trios, and much more. Plus, they performed four songs live, and since they don't have any formal recordings out yet... this may be one of the only places you can hear them. For now, anyway. Here's my conversation with Brad Skibinsky from Winnipeg’s heavy vinyl distro Eye and Ear Control Records! It's a great chat about serving a niche community of discerning metal fans, opening a small physical HQ in the Exchange, working with local artists like Propagandhi (he just restocked the Today's Empires, Tomorrow's Ashes remix/remaster), and so much more!
