WR150: Live at the Handsome Daughter

On Sept. 27, we pulled out all the stops for our first-ever (and hopefully first of many) live onstage podcast. The show, celebrating our milestone 150th episode, featured interviews and live performances with old friends and collaborators Rob Crooks, Nestor Wynrush, Country Steve and first-time guest Mona Mousa. Although the turnout wasn't record-breaking, the crowd more than made up for it in volume and enthusiasm. We certainly hustled to get the word out about this event, with coverage from local newspapers The Metro, The Uniter and a number of campus radio interviews leading up to the big night. Huge thanks to everyone who came out and supported. It was a blast. We can't wait to do more live and direct events in future! ...

WR297: The Sturgeons

Folk/roots brother act [The Sturgeons](http://www.the-sturgeons.com/) are no strangers to Witchpolice Radio -- they appeared a few years back as members of [Rory Verbrugge and the Ruckus](http://witchpolice.podiant.co/e/3529650d0c4e50L/) -- but this time they're on the show to talk about their own project and their excellent new album, Black and White. This one was a quick interview over the lunch hour at the mall, so the usual disclaimer applies: there's a decent amount of background noise... and at various points, one of the Sturgeons moves away from the mic. One of the hazards of what is essentially guerrilla podcasting in public! However, it's a great conversation, and there are four tracks from the new record in the episode as well. Thanks to everyone who has supported the podcast thus far. Thanks to supporters like the Winnipeg Music Project, we can keep churning out interviews twice a week! If you like the show, please head down to [patreon.com/witchpolice](http://www.patreon.com/witchpolice), and for as little as $1 a month, you can help keep the lights on! WR592: WIll Bonness

Jazz pianist [Will Bonness](http://www.willbonness.com/) is on the show! We talked about his latest record, *Change of Plans*, and its deadly cover of “Bullet With Butterfly Wings”, about changing the perception that jazz is for the 70+ crowd, about the appeal of improvisation, and much more!
